‘Not going to do it at Tottenham’ – Harry Kane urged to leave Spurs by Man Utd legend

Roy Keane has urged Harry Kane to leave Tottenham and give himself a better chance of winning trophies elsewhere.

Kane is yet to win any medals with Spurs, but that could change if the Londoners beat Manchester City in the League Cup final next month.

That said, it will be a big ask for Tottenham to overcome Pep Guardiola’s men, and Jose Mourinho’s side do not have another shot at silverware.

They also have a mountain to climb if they are to finish in the top four, meaning Kane is potentially set to play another season without Champions League football.

Subsequently the England captain, who grabbed a goal and an assist for the Three Lions against Albania on Sunday, has been linked with an exit in recent weeks.

And speaking during ITV’s coverage of the England game, Manchester United legend Keane suggested Kane must leave Spurs if he is to start lifting trophies at club level.

“He’s a professional. If you’re a top player you want to win trophies,” Keane said (via the Manchester Evening News).

“It’s a big few months coming up for Tottenham, the League Cup final, can they get in the top four? Huge question marks.

“Will that influence him? He’s obviously under contract, Tottenham will have a lot to say about it.

“But if you’re in his shoes and it comes to the summer, I think the guy has to move on to really win the big prizes. He’s not going to do it at Tottenham.”

It’s true that Kane will probably struggle to consistently win silverware if he stays at Spurs, but it will certainly take a lot of money to prise him away this summer.
